Duets

A Poem

By Genesis GonzalezPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I spoke softly

You slipped into the cracks of my voice

Between the words

Whispering into the coal mine

Whistling your music

Echoing my valley

Knowing if I follow the river

Each ripple will lead to my heart

Banging against the cage of my bones

The bass quaking and shattering every cell

Carrying Oxygen to my lips

Where I softly speak the words of your song

“You're Mine, You’re Mine

Thump Thump

You’re Mine”

*This isn’t part of the poem, but I needed to hit a 100 word count. So, feel free to like and share my work as long as you credit it to me. Tips are always appreciated but I would rather know people are enjoying my work.
