Drowning in Noise

When you try to be creative and attempt to work on something that needs concentration, the voice of many can pull you away from your task at hand.

It’s hard to think

in a crowded room

with crowded voices.

***

Try to write.

Try to create.

Try to find...

that compelling thought.

***

But countless voices

make countless sounds.

And every voice

draws me away

from my sacred task.

***

This Hydra head

keeps going and growing,

while I ignore

and keep my focus.

***

But, they start to laugh.

They start to cry.

They start to fuss...

and sing and play

on their phones

for all to hear.

***

And my attention

goes all out

as concentration

is gone.

***

I’m out of words.

I’m out of thoughts.

***

I’m distracted, again.

Can’t finish this, for too long.

***

I can’t…

I’m drowning in noise.
