Such a wonderfully powerful metaphor!
You just have a beautiful mind, Matt! :)
Nicely done. I thought this was also about climate change until I read your note. I think everyone will be glad when this election is over, - it has been vicious. I am subscribing to you.
Oh!! The metaphor within this is so genuine!! I love the idea that if we willingly burry our heads in the sand then no one will be able to warn us before we drown. Or if no one votes then we won't have the leader we need!
well written senryu, filled with honesty
I feel the anxiety growing daily, fueled by the media. And honestly, can't wait till it's all said and done.
Nice Matthew- it's punchy and accuses, but not too sharply.

Very nicely done!
Some carefully crafted layers to this. Great senryu, Matthew!
I'm going to be so sad if my weekly $25 donations are for nothing 😞
I thought this was about climate change and then read the authors note. Context changed and I realized there are far scarier things occurring than Halloween soon.
Well put! I have such anxiety about this election. Like a constant undercurrent.
