Drone War

G3

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

In the bleak and oppressive city,

Where drones hummed constantly above,

The government held total authority.

No one was allowed to leave,

Those who tried were never heard of, you see.

A young woman lived in a small, dingy flat,

On the outskirts of the city, where it was dreary and sad.

She worked a tedious job at the factory,

Monitored by drones that circled above.

She never stopped dreaming of a way out,

Despite her exhaustion and the daily route.

One day, while walking home from work,

She saw a flyer that was pasted to a wall.

It was an invitation to a secret meeting,

Where people were gathering to plot a rebellion

Against the government.

The woman was sceptical, but also desperate,

And so she decided to attend the gathering.

In the basement, she found a group of rebels,

Whispering and planning their next move.

They told her about their fight for freedom,

Their stories of oppression and resistance.

The woman was hesitant at first,

But as she listened, she began to feel hope burst.

She joined the rebellion and worked alongside them,

Gathering information and plotting their next move.

It was a dangerous game, and they all knew

That they could be caught at any moment.

But the woman was determined to see this through,

To bring change to the city and take a risk.

She threw herself into the rebellion with all her might,

As the government fought back with ferocity.

The drones seemed to have a life of their own,

Attacking rebels and causing destruction everywhere.

It was a horrific and endless war.

And then, one day, the rebellion succeeded.

The drones fell silent and the government crumbled,

As the people of the city celebrated in the streets.

But the victory was short-lived, as the woman saw

The sky turning dark and ominous, the ground shaking,

The buildings crumbling, the world ending.

The woman fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face,

Realising that they had made a terrible mistake.

The rebellion had caused the destruction of the city,

And now there was no turning back.

The world was ending, and there was nothing they could do

To stop it. This was the end, the rebellion's own downfall,

With no hope left for any of them.
