He wakes in a haze

It’s dark

He searches for a light

He bangs

He screams

He shivers

The man said he would know

Now he does

He and…

He finds the light

No cigarettes in sight

It doesn’t feel right

Still, the light guides his eyes

But where?

Nowhere to look

Nothing to see

He tries to bang

His hands are weak

His body shivers

He tries to scream

Nobody can hear him

Not under it all anyway

Soon, he’ll be reunited with…

He’s drifting away

His mind is clear

Not in presence but in knowledge

The unknown is now known

But he’s drifting away…

fact or fiction
