Dreams into Reality

A poem about the struggle of fitting into a modern day work mentality

Trying to rip words from my heart,

turning dreams into reality,

forging molten iron into steel,

but there is something missing -

a temperature yet to be reached;

a resolve yet to be tempered

that refuses to grow beyond a mind

drowned in doubt, fear, uncertainty -

distractions as numerous as the popping of sparks

an illness like the rot in a grave -

why can't I be tempered in the waters

of normalcy - the grind mentality -

a goal far more unreachable

than these thoughts of words,

turning dreams into reality.

    This was so relatable. There's just always something holding us back from getting what we want. Loved your poem!

  • Because normalcy only erodes, smoothing the edges perhaps, but never forging steel.

    Ah man I felt this one be down to my toes. So much frustration it makes you want to scream sometimes
