In my homeland, where shadows roam
I thought I'd find solace, a place to call home
But safety's just a myth, a distant dream
For on that fateful day, my world was extreme
I returned from school, with heart so light
But darkness awaited, and a terrible night
A blow to my eyes, my glasses shattered too
I was thrown from a moving vehicle, oh what to do?
Injuries mounted, pain took its toll
My phone and gadgets gone, my soul grew old
But then a miracle, a twist of fate
Everything returned, in double weight
Yet, amidst the gain, a loss did remain
Trust was shattered, like my glasses in vain
For in that moment, I realized with a sigh
In my country, safety's just a distant cry
Now I walk alone, with cautious eyes
For in the crowd, a stranger's disguise
Trust is a luxury, I can no longer afford
In my country, where safety's just a distant chord.
