Waiting on a Miracle

Sit and watch, sit and wait

The clock tick tocks on and on

There's nothing do, nothing to say

Inside is fear, outside stay strong

Pace to the door, pace up the hall

Watch TV without seeing a thing

Wait for an answer, wait for the call

They'll find someone, the phone will ring

One in a thousand, what's the chance

The long wait is finally through

A brother we find is a perfect match

And he's so willing to give it to you

Sit and watch, sit and wait

The clock tick tocks on and on

Lean on each other and silently pray

Worry for Dad, worry for Don

Pace to the door, pace back and forth

Read the same page o'er and o'er

Wait for the surgeon to bring his report

He finally comes through the door

One in a thousand, what's the odds

It worked and worked immediately

A miracle it seems sent from God

In the form of a brother's kidney

No reason to sit, no reason to wait

Life's adventure goes on and on

Enjoy the moment and seize the day

A gift from God, a gift from Don

Climb up a mountain, fish in a stream

Watch the sunset then watch it rise

Hug your daughters, dance with your queen

No more tears left to fall from our eyes

One in a thousand, what's it mean

Life's more precious now than we knew

The nightmare now becomes a dream

And we get three more decades with you
