That man was alone
Embarrassed & helpless
When his car just stopped
In the midst of a busy street
Cars drove past in a hurry
Honking and cursing
But it was you, just you
Who rushed to his aid
By yourself you pushed
Slowly the car moved
Off the road, out of the way
He waved gratitude
As you returned to our car
No one else seemed to care
A van full of women
Off on an adventure
Unaware of the danger they faced
But you saw it
You signaled for them to stop
On the side of the road
While rain fell from above
You changed their tire
And sent them on their way
Through the winding canyon
You were there to keep them safe
When no one else saw
Such a frigid winter’s day
As we drove down the freeway
I didn’t even notice the truck
Off on the shoulder
But you quickly noticed it
And the footprints in the snow
You saw him and stopped
We had no room for him
But you took the gas can
Ten to fifteen miles we drove
Before we finally found a station
It took us nearly an hour
To get there and back
His family had waited
No one else stopped
No one else showed concern
You were the only one
I have watched you
I know the things you do
Without asking for glory
Without expecting return
You jump into action
While others just pass by
The world is too busy
To self- absorbed to see
But you are the rare one
The one who will stop every time

I only write about the real world. But if you look close enough, you'll see there's magic hiding in plain sight everywhere.
