Don't Forget Your Sunscreen
The Devil Is A Bad Boyfriend

*
You sound like an angel, he whispered to me
But I dance way better than I sing
I’ve got an old halo on my rear view
Making my way to the new frontier
Watch what you say, I’ve got my head on a swivel
I need you like God needs the devil
Light needs dark and good needs evil
Eternity’s coming and it lasts forever
Your power coursing through my veins
I bit my tongue, you donned the reins
I've found my pleasure in the pain
I don't need sun, I pour like rain
So, go on now, show who you are
A no-good doer in the back of my car
Blowing smoke-rings with your cigar
Strumming heartstrings like a guitar
You played me good
You played me hard
Misunderstood
You played your cards
You called my bluff
I read you wrong
Thought I was tough
You stole my song
You changed the notes
Rewrote the words
Made me the goat
Flipped me the bird
You were out of there
Like slick on butter
Like fire needs air
You ran for cover
Left me behind, to take the blame
No longer blind, I bore your shame
And wrote these words
A full-blown warning
To all the girls
Save them some mourning
Beware the devil and his smile
He may be charming for awhile
But soon enough, you will get burned
Just look at me and my sunburn
