It Takes Two

A Murder In Central Park

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

They both grew together

The small girl and her bird

To say that they were tethered

I know may sound a bit absurd

But the connection that they shared

Sure, was eerie at its best

I swear that bird could hear

Her thoughts and heartbeat in her chest

He presented her with gifts

Some were shiny, some were old

He built for her a nest

Brought her “hot” silver and gold

If she were ever to meet danger

He would be there to defend her

He protected her from strangers

One day covering her in feathers

When he finished, she undoubtedly resembled the raven

Till it was difficult to tell the two apart

They flew off like soaring jets, into the bright blue heavens

Swooping and diving folks in Central Park

Now they spend their days out soaring

Flying and plotting plans together

All the members they will be adding

To their new humanly formed murder
