A poem

All the leaves are falling now,

Memories of summer spent with you,

Who could say the moment's gone?

What if we knew?

The dance has taken us around,

Missteps and graceful twirls,

If we knew the song would end,

Would we have played a different tune?

But life is joy and pain,

Each moment holds its own refrain,

Don’t look back before the cliff,

For I will dive in with you.

I love how you built this upon the leaves falling, which was a foreshadow of the falling away between the two lovers. Describing the dance of the bad days and the good days as missteps and graceful twirls was a smart twist.

Gorgeously spontaneous. I loved your depiction of actively fighting against doubt and regret in order to live in the moment and just dive in without a second thought! ♥️
