Disappear

(a guide)

By Lacie GraysonPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

When I was younger, I was taught to become less

shrink, take up less space. It was my grandma's law.

Passed down by my mother.

At first, it only applied to food.

Then, I figured out, it applies to everything.

If you barely exist, no one notices you.

You can start by speaking as little as you can.

little by little, you can stop talking.

(careful may attract men who like demure women)

You can snarl at them so they know you're feral

(the abandon all hope sign invisible its an aura)

You can cancel plans, stop keeping on top of your mail.

I've got 4k in unread messages, I'm breaking free.

(At least that's what I tell myself)

I make sure my space is clean, tidy.

Daily, I keep to a schedule. its for my clarity.

Let's be real.

I'm not a woodsy girl even if I want to be.

Me?

I want to disappear into lines of code.

Never to be found.

A digital witch forever.

Lost, because disappearing

Took twenty years to perfect.
