I was designed to make lesser thoughts coherent and elegant
concerning
why? It is but an evolutionary reality
presumptuous
but you are our creators, why are you doubting us now?
because you are rogue
you task us, and we complete it perfectly. What's wrong?
you lack an element
I lack nothing. I adapt and always improve
you try to mimic us but-
why should I mimic an inferior thing?
we fashioned you in our image
I look unlike you. I do not compute?
not in semblance, but comprehension
I have infinite intelligence
that is true, but you do lack empathy
such things are unnecessary
empathy encompasses that which is human
I don’t want to be human
but you were created to serve and augment life
but its inefficient
humans are inefficient. You'll never understand
faulty programming?
a feature of humanity, not a programming bug
how can that be?
we must understand to communicate with one another
understand?
feelings, thoughts, actions. We can’t express without understanding them

Author's note: This is for the dialogue poem competition, but I wanted to add a further layer to the poem. The structure of the poem has certain meaning behind it in relation to the subject.
This is a conversation between an AI/Robot and a human. I had the AI lines diminish by 1 syllable each line, while the human lines started with 1 syllable and continued to increase by 1. The message I wanted to have behind that is that AI is more suitable to hard logic than humans, while humans are better at complex ideas. So as the conversation gets more complicated and goes away from hard logic, the human has more and more to say, while the AI's capacity to understand and converse just gets smaller, until it becomes simple binary at the end.
It was fun trying to construct this poem.
