Diesel in the Sunny

A poem about a Nan and a Nissan

By Jay BoucherPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

On a bright and beautiful sunny day,

my Nan with her bright and beautiful sunny way.

Found herself a sudden need,

for that sweet vehicular mead

Of continued navigation,

which led us to a petrol station.

Which when given undue attention,

meant the wrong fuel was in retention.

Filled the Sunny up, with four star unleaded.

Upon moving a few feet, a noise my Nan dreaded.

The Sunny had a nice little life until now...

When all of a sudden, found itself amongst clouds.

Sputtering too, as it came to a stop.

A life spent carrying us to the shops.

Wishing to speed along like Evel Knievel...

Ah... But my Nan filled the Sunny with diesel.
