Detective Brown's Off-Duty Detective Work

P5

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Detective Brown was off the clock,

Relaxing at home, with her feet up on the rock,

She brewed a cup of tea, in her hand,

And tuned in to her favourite show, as planned.

It was an episode of Poirot,

A show she never wanted to miss, a lot,

She sipped her tea, and watched with glee,

As Poirot solved the mystery.

But as she watched, she couldn't help but think,

Of the similarities, between Poirot and her, a link,

They both were detectives, with a keen eye,

And a love for solving mysteries, that couldn't die.

As the episode came to an end,

She couldn't shake off the feeling that she'll never mend,

The desire to solve a case, and find a clue,

But for now, she'll enjoy her tea, and watch Poirot anew.

She switched off the TV, and sat in silence,

Reflecting on the cases, and the violence,

But in her heart, she knew,

That she'll always be a detective, through and through.
