Desert Fall

From Summer to Autumn

Petrichor wafting

Flood waters are receding

Muddy desert floor

Dusty turns to green

The dead coming back to life

From dry summer days

Saguaro basking

Drinking in the dying light

Of the setting sun

Golden rays will fade

To darker blues and purples

Behind graying clouds

Lightning strikes the Earth

Precursor to the torrent

To begin anew
