Delightful Reasons (for you)
Poetry by Jessica Karris

I could compare you to a rose,
So beautiful, so pure;
But to compare me,
I wouldn’t be so sure.
I can only hope,
To be your sunshine,
So bright in your sky;
Only to hope,
That my light for you,
Will not surely die.
I will shine for you, through all the season;
I pray I give you warmth,
As you give me reason.
A reason to love,
A reason to rise;
A reason to believe,
What’s in my skies.
Any flower I see picked far before its time;
I will give love with my warm sunshine.
For when it is gone with much ado;
That is when,
I will think of you.
