Definitions of Love

Love is unconditional.
Love is Pure.
The world makes it so obscure.
Expectations, and trials.
We’re all a broken child inside
Turning to another for validation
For purpose.
Unknowingly agitating the surface.
We all have something inside, that makes us want to cry.
That complicates the status quo
Leaving us feeling less than whole.
So we escape through the substances that we can find.
Believing we are meant to hide.
Hurting those closest to us.
So oblivious.
Numbing has become a norm
Leaving us forlorn.
Losing our power
Giving away what is rightfully ours.
We turn to blame, and find reasons to claim the insane.
Victims of circumstance.
Making it hard to give real love a chance.
We all think we know what love is
We all place a meaning to the claim.
But love is not clear in this day and age.
Distortions leave us limited and running in place.
Love is limitless
Love does not judge
Love does not blame
Love is surrender
In a world hard to render.
