Metamorphosis
Written + Illustrated by Briana Leigh

Pieces of me, stitched together with dignity.
Derived deep inside from places I use to hide.
The echos no longer affect me.
The disconnect from vanity.
Identity.
No longer the gilded mask derived from the once dark past.
With consciousness to see the darkness was me.
Forming reflection.
Shaping perception.
Grounded in suspension.
Navigating the unknown is something to behold.
An icy shiver down the spine.
Something that gets easier in time.
Let the metamorphosis take hold.
Slowly feeling much more whole.

Writing to me is akin to pouring out your soul, all with a goal to understand and process the world more coherently. Writing is a passion, a cope, and a way of communicating ideas. It's one of the most under appreciated forms of art we have
