Deep Night

For the moon's whisper is a balm to the night,
And endless are the stars in the night that floats above.
Quiescent is the air,
And the world is sleeping careless.

Here shadow stretch, the silence grows,
A gentle breeze-swept place where the darkness flows.
Broad and deep, the blanket of night,
Keeps secrets lingering in dreams.

What is the world turning but here quiet?
Night has softest peace when full awakened.
At this deep hour, hearts have wings,
Lose themselves in endless night.
