On the pavement of injustice, they lay,

African Americans, their lives slipping away.

Their breaths stolen, their voices unheard,

Their dreams shattered, without a word.

In the shadows of society's gaze,

They fall victim to violence's blaze.

Their bodies broken, their spirits torn,

As the echoes of injustice are born.

For on the pavement, their blood spills,

A stark reminder of society's ills.

Their lives cut short, by the hands of hate,

Leaving families to mourn their fate.

Yet in the midst of sorrow's reign,

Their legacy remains, a flame.

For in their struggle, their fight for rights,

They ignite a spark in darkest nights.

Their names etched in the annals of time,

A testament to courage, sublime.

Their voices echo in the hearts of all,

As we heed the silent call.

So let us stand together, side by side,

In solidarity, let us abide.

For African Americans, dying on the pavement,

Their lives matter, their souls are sacred.
