dear hippie days 🌺🌸

how are you my dear old friend

it sure has been a while

i just want to say that

we are in dire need of another floral rejuvenation

it matters not when you were born 🌷

to fully appreciate that past freedom flower generation

we need another freedom days revolution

i miss the quiet languishing feel of the days 🌷

when we never felt like punctuating anything

there were no full stops, commas or blocked up quotes

when we hugged trees to our hearts delight

slept naked upon the blushing grass 💮🌺🌸

and oh yes smoking much of that other grass

so cool, so groovy

we felt the pleasing harmonic movements of the earth

the sun shone kinder then too, i do declare 🌺🌸

the cleansing rain washed our cares away

and life flowed like a river free of earthly cares

music, poetry and free verse danced upon the wind 🌺🌸

remember the flowery bell bottom jeans and such things

the revealing cooling tank and bikini tops

the platform shoes sure made our backs hurt 🌷

but who cared they made us look cool

lets not forget our trusty VW Bugs and Vans

they at least deserve some capital letters

there were a lot more trees back then

the air was fresher and sweeter to the taste

please come back i miss you so

well maybe not the platform shoes 🌷

my brain is bogged down with todays worry

if you could please stop by for a little while

i sure would appreciate the kindness

the opportunity to feel free and unencumbered again

i eagerly await your return 🌷
