Dear Anxious Attachment
A letter to attachment
Dear anxious attachment,
I no longer want you inside of me and giving me severe anxiety.
Dear anxious attachment,
I’m breaking up with you because you leave me paranoid walking into a void.
Dear anxious attachment,
I’m tired of you being buried in me deep at night where I can’t sleep at night.
Dear anxious attachment,
I’m drawn to you even though it’s not right. You always make me hold on too tight.
Dear anxious attachment,
You’re not welcome here. All you have to offer me is a constant state of fear.
Dear anxious attachment,
You’re driving me insane. Forever embedding in my brain a purgatory of pain.
Dear anxious attachment,
I’m done with your lies. When presented to my eyes, you make me catastrophize.
Dear anxious attachment,
You say you love me, but you hate me. Your flavor of pain intoxicates me.
Dear anxious attachment,
You’ve taken my last breath. Every moment with you is a small brush of death.
Dear anxious attachment,
You were never good. Never a friend, just a traumatic scar of my childhood.
Dear anxious attachment,
I hope this letter finds you before you find me. I just want you behind me.
