where will my posts be when I’m dead? will they be printed and stored in a pretty box by a loved one, or, oh wow, floating in a data cloud named for me? maybe it will be smooshed with all other data and only sorted out upon request. most likely it will simply float in enormous scalable data clouds from the platform on which posted, a jumbled mess of code to be unscrambled in order to be turned back into words…or not. CODE. is it possible future persons will unscramble it; more likely, destroy it, like an unused ancient graveyard where the old graves are dug up after a century and reused, you know, because land is so precious; so precious everywhere but in the United States, where there is an abundance of land. now.

Put it in your will. what? I will it to no one. Let the data go where it wants and land of its own volition in a place of its choosing. who wants to be given the chore, inherit that job, of gathering all of it from countless places, and organizing it? responsibility. heavy burden on that soul to own someone's data of photos, comments, posts of annoyance, posts of good cheer, condolences, words imparting useful information or self-proclaimed wisdom

Fascinating poem. Recently, I’ve been wondering about someone on Vocal, who months ago, suddenly & totally ‘disappeared’. Are they still alive? What happened? And there seems no way of finding out.🥺

I had been thinking the same thoughts...but i have seen folks toss out stuff without care. So gather them yourself, is my idea.

  • I've recommended this for a Top Story in Raise Your Voice here https://shopping-feedback.today/resources/raise-your-voice-thread-07-31-2025%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

Very thought provoking! And such unique formatting choices! Very cleverly done, Andrea!

  • Heart dropped and a great way of looking at the challenge

Some interesting thoughts for consideration! Enjoyed it.

One way to look at it is that it's proof we've existed... Well, on top of the other awesome stuff we've done in life. A unique and interesting piece, Andi. Well-written! 💛

It is weird when you think about all the data just floating around. Crazy! Great stuff Andrea!

This is something to think about. What if all our work here on Vocal is archived for future writers and artists to help with their research somehow. Good job.

Will it now be that we are not truly dead until we are buried, the last time someone mentions our name, and the last time that AI mines our words to fake being himan? Well done!

So much power, and power comes at a cost of resources. all just to house dead data. Great piece. 👏👏👏

Well done, Andrea. It is mind-boggling to think all the messages and texts are just floating around in what we call the cloud. Where is the cloud anyway?

  • Lol, I wish it would just poof, disappear. This sure was thought provoking. Loved your poem!

Archived in the clouds with you. Just be careful what you show St. Peter. 😉
