Dark Open Spaces

A Poem

By C.Z. Munu Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Lying there awake she gazed at the black empty ceiling and thought about how she got here.

She wondered what life would be like if she had been able to control other people’s choices.

Succumbing to the quiet she realized everything that had happened was never in her grasp to begin with.

This time, her loss of a friend had nothing to do her.

She contemplated each time her love and support had been dished out, yet ignored.

Her effort had been tarnished for something out of her control.

Facing the dark open space above her the woman closed her eyes to face her dreams.

A space in which she knew would be better than the present.
