Dark Night of My Soul

Dark night of my soul

I am letting go

Of my entire being

Embracing your invitation to cease

The ongoing ego relieved

Envelope me through the breaths

Of past memories

Of burdens and regrets

Forgive me my debts

Open my anguish and bruise me

With your kiss of death.

Dark night of my soul

Take all of me, whole.

Emerge me in my deepest of fears

Delight in the flow of my tears.

Awaken my soul to the breaking of pain

The struggle that ignites my internal flame.

Dark night of my soul

Take away my thoughts that limit

Every intimate minute of you

Erase my burdens and brake my quickness to speak

Give me strength when I grow weak

Unleash my divine glory to God

Who married me long before

Unveil my eyes to see truth

Deliver the aliveness of my youth

Settle me in graces of becoming old.

Dark night of my soul

Caress me as I follow you now

Teach me to wrap my essence in every moment we share

I will follow you anywhere

Dark night of my soul .

Dark night of my soul

Take the wine from my lips

Surrender me with this last kiss

Dark night of my soul.
