Enlighten me with this obscurity of light that lies beneath the darkness.
Creep through slowly, but still please show me the illumination that brings me hope.
Let the darkness only be part of this, but keep it temporary.
It could make a mess of me, or even get the best of me if it were to linger for too long.
Phenomenal, it may be, but let this pass through smoothly - don’t blind me.
Soothe me with the knowledge that the light shines through, under the darkness.
Eventually it will leave, it will get past this.

Let the darkness only be part of this, but keep it temporary. Outstanding piece. Nicely Done!!!
Oh my, Jess. Another outstanding piece, your love of performance poetry shines through here. It fits so nicely with the subject of this piece, your awareness, your vulnerability brings a unique edge. And with this I understand the feelings you’re expressing, and in a lot of ways, I know the person, event or thing it speaks of.
