Dangerous Wishes IV

The single wish that is placed last on my list... -it doesn't just end the list, or the page... -but a lot more. That is why it is by far the most dangerous.

dangerous wishes‐

one after another they leave my mouth,

standing single-file in my speech

walking from my heart's list,

a dangerous collection

of rather drastic desires,

inspired from torment's selection‐

extreme measures,

from the times that numbness was for hire‐

and near fatal thoughts of mine,

what is present on this list, is no man's treasure‐

dangerous wishes‐

gathered in the smoke above this burning paradise,

my heart's fire‐

no longer contained,

now rushing out untamed‐

one after another they leave my mouth,

sprinting in-line with all my speech,

the members of my heart's hopeless list

a quite dangerous collection

consisting of the worst temptations,

permanent "solutions" to what i'm told are "temporary" issues‐

as if time itself isn't printing new issues of torment by the month,

a subscription paid for with my life

all that time can't heal, it teases

but my escape lies at the bottom of this list,

of dangerous wishes‐

there is one, among all the rest

that houses more fear than all others...

that if were made a reality,

would be the last i make‐

and it wouldn't be just this page coming to an end...

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
