Dandelions
Scattered
You whisper, and the wind blows
each leaf in the tree, reveals your secrets
The unseen beauty of your plan
Carried on the breeze, an unfurled hope, releasing regret
You sigh, and the birds sing
Melancholy moments of magic make their way to my ears
Trickling through my head and ensnaring my entire being
The last wispy wishes of wonder wake what has been waiting to be awakened
Clinging hopefully to your next breath, like lightning follows thunder
Each seed of a dandelion holds promises for a new day
Carefreely floating, awaiting its destiny
Trusting the light flurry of air to gently guide its delivery
Keeping alive the desire to dream

This was so mesmerising and magical! Loved your poem!
The wonder of every child breathing dandelion seeds into the breeze, the terror of every home owner (or at least lawn owner). Did you know that dandelions are not indigenous to North America? The Pilgrims brought them over because they were easy to grow & extremely nutritious. Mom used to pay us a nickel for each dandelion we dug out of the yard--but it had to include the entire root. Do you know how hard it is to get the entire root? Not worth it.
