Dandelion
A Villanelle On The Transformation Of The Dandelion From Sun To Moon To Stars

Introduction
The 3 phases of a dandelion represent the sun, moon and stars. The yellow flower represents the sun, the white puff ball represents the moon and the dispersing seeds represent the stars. The name dandelion comes from French dent-de-lion, meaning "lion's tooth" because of the pointy shape of its leaves.

I thought that the dandelion's transitions deserved a poem. My daughter Juliet has a lovely cat called Dandelion.

Love the similes! an so informative.
Blown away by the intricacies here Mike! You included some interesting FYI. The focus on the phases of the dandelion is one that I now will never forget likened to celestial bodies. Not to mention your daughter's cat is gorgeous. Beautifully written!

Oh, what a beautiful poem, Mike! I enjoyed it tremendously.
Beautiful and enlightening -- thank you!
A very nice tribute and a skillfully written villanelle, of course. Dandelion greens are very tasty and nutritious in salads, too. Be sure to pick them young, though!
congratulations on TS. I'll never look at a dandelion the same way again. this was truly brilliant.
