Dancing on Thin Ice
Dancing on thin ice
feet whisper across the glass
every step a question
every turn a risk
I feel the cold below
pressing up through me
my heart drums louder
as shadows flicker around
I smile though I know
the ice might crack
I move anyway
because stillness is heavier
Each glide is fleeting
each breath a small rebellion
I dance on the edge
and I am alive
The wind bites, sharp and cruel
yet I welcome it
it reminds me
that I am here
Hands stretch wide
arms sway like branches
I hold the air
as if it could hold me
Cracks appear
thin lines racing like lightning
I ignore them
I spin, I leap, I fall back up
The surface trembles
the world shifts underfoot
but I do not stop
I cannot stop
Because every moment
every fragile step
is proof
that I still dare
Every day, every step
I am dancing on thin ice
and I love the thrill

This is one way to bring some excitement to one's life even if figuratively. Great job.
This was exhilarating to read — the tension between danger and joy came through so vividly. I could almost feel the ice trembling under each step, yet the spirit of defiance made it uplifting. Beautifully captured.
Beautiful, love how vividly you describe the moment.
Fabulous work Marie! 🫶🏾☺️
