Dance Again
I want to share this dance.

I looked in your eyes and smiled,
and that’s how it all began.
A clever wink, paired with
the gentle nudge of your hand.
I spun as you asked,
as graceful as I knew how to be,
not yet knowing that with that spin,
I crossed a line I could barely see.
I didn’t know that with that spin,
I really couldn’t go back.
I didn’t know if we’d dance again,
yet I hoped we were on track.
So now I say to you,
the one I want to dance with again-
I’ll be content waiting here,
Rooted to the floor,
waiting for my chance.

Beautiful poem. You caught so many elements of love, attraction, and longing
I know those summers. I was willing to keep waiting until someone was willing to accept my core
Lovely poem

Love how you captured such a complicated relationship dynamic within the context of sharing a dance! Very well done!
