Gone but Not Forgotten

By Abi Rose TravisPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

In twilight’s hush, your silhouette stood tall

A fierce protector, answering love’s call

Your paws, like thunder, grounded my soul

A steadfast shield that made me whole

Eyes like embers, fierce yet kind

A silent vow forever signed

No shadow dared to cross our way

For you, my guardian, held the day

Too soon you slipped beyond life’s door

But in my heart, you roar once more

No other soul could take your place

Your spirit lingers, time can’t erase

I feel your breath in evening’s breeze,

Your strength in rustling autumn leaves

Though gone, your love remains my guide

My soul dog, forever by my side
