Daffodils

I wander'd lonely as a cloud
A famous poet wrote.
I'm not a cloud though I like to wander
And encounter armies of daffodils.
Clustered close in verges green
Waving frantically to be seen
Lifting spirits with a trumpet blare
Yellow, gleeful, standing there.
Is there a more glorious sight
Than daffodils and their golden light?
Proud nation perched towards the west,
A land of harp and poets ancient
Chose daffodils as their emblem flower
Because, I think, we all love to sing.

Gorgeous poem for such cheerful flowers.
Very nice, Rachel.
That was so beautiful, Super Rach. Loved your poem!
This was just beautiful, Rachel!! Great work!
beautiful tribute to the lovely flower. I especially like this like, as I can picture the scene. "Clustered close in verges green Waving frantically to be seen Lifting spirits with a trumpet blare Yellow, gleeful, standing there."
I love your poem, Rachel, and daffodils are such a lovely sight any day. I keep meaning to write a poem for Ellie's challenge; I suppose I should get cracking!
I definitely love singing in my head. Lovely poem, Rachel.
Well-wrought, Rachel! I encountered many sweet-smelling flowers on a hike yesterday, and appreciate any poetic reminder!
Woohoo- a poem from Rachel!! 💚☺️
So beautiful, Rachel! I love this line “Waving frantically to be seen”. - So adorable as if they were looking for attention. 🌼
I love the yellowness of the King Alfred variety, and the striking orange and white of the poet’s narcissus Actaea, and the creamy white of Barrett Browning. A good poem for a sunny spring day.
