Cryptic Mind

But beautifully so

Cryptic mind, cryptic mind

Will you find, will you find?

The sign that you've been looking for

To walk through the door

Of lands unknown

Mysteries un-shown

Wild caveats crawling

Shoots and letters drawing

Geniuses go unnoticed

To those who are closest

Just take a guess

And confess

You just don't know

And it will show

One day when you least expect it

You might even forfeit

But, hopefully not

Because of all the time sought

Choose a door

And simply explore

Otherwise, it will choose you first

And you'll find you might burst

At the thought of what is behind it

That it doesn't, your life, fit

The time has now come

No question really is dumb

Two steps up

And one step down

Falling up the stairs

Through greatest cares

Just be making the forward motion

Or you will become frozen

Making the wrong decision

With, less than, gentle precision

Is certainly better than nothing

Then from decisions ducking

slam poetry

I love how it teases the reader to explore or be explored. Sometimes the thrill isn’t in finding the answer but in dancing with the not-knowing. 😊
