Crimson Kisses
For the "Somewhere Between Here and There" challenge

Meandering
In the invisible
Basking
In the fairy shine
Cheek upturned
Towards the glittering
Dots and lines
Eyes close
Lips part
White instantaneously
Melts to wet
Overcome
By desire
And deep-seated regret
Delicate
Transient
Revealing the intangible
Floating
Dancing
Rushing in frigid instances
Hovering
Flakes afloat
They fly and flurry
Stop
And drop
Then again, they begin to scurry
Clumping and bumping
The wind howls
Blizzarding
Scarlet reflects
In the strands of light
Shimmering
As a blurred figure
Draws nearer my site
Across the
Crystal-swept plane
Gliding
Dropping petals
In the steps left
A trail
Stark
Sanguine
Finally,
A form transfigures
What I swear
To be a thorny stem
A lithe figure
Clearing
In the snowy mist
Velvet black braid
Swings
Steadily
As he advances
With lips
Like a
Rose
Petal-soft
And crimson red
Through the storm
He steps
Firm
With grace
A dancer’s strength
Taking center stage
Sweeping flourish
I’m floating off
my feet
Flakes by the thousand
Grace
My face
As we silently
Meld
Into the disappearing
Landscape
Resuming my
Aimless trek
White
Powdery dunes
Slowly softening
Roundly swallowing
All traces of
Our mystic
Whistling
Escape
Wind
Sweeping bridges of ice
Across
The horizon
Waltzing
On thin sheets
Of white
Spiraling
Stacking
Like a staircase
Leading
To fluffy white clouds
Of endlessly
Falling
Snow

This is one of my more experimental pieces, with a format designed to evoke the sensation of falling snow. It looked like the formatting held until I published it, which is highly frustrating. I am including screenshots of the original format. I chose the time between the beginning and the mysterious end of a midnight stroll in the falling snow to set this entry to the Somewhere Between Here and There challenge prompt.
