Creative Fire Burns Within And Needs Stoking
A Freedom Of Speech Poetic Message Loosley Inspired and Submitted To The Last Flame Challenge

Respecting the prehistoric fire
Very tired
Warming flames
For centuries, ignited the same
Look
Feeding off pages from a banned book
Lifelong lived
Reflecting upon the gift
Despite needing a supportive lift
Thinking a raven enter the home
Preying knowing inhabitant is alone
“Surprise!”
A speedy falcon cries,
Named Maltese
Spreading peace
Delivering red soup bowls
Since outside, it is very cold
Despite successful streets, paved with gold
Combatting a world, ready to fold
Then the quick bird
Spoke a word
Wanting to hear
Memories remembering cheer
Dancing and singing
Holiday bells ringing
Bringing
A sign
Stating, “its time
Future needs tender loving care
Your wisdom needs to be shared
What happened in the past
Due to information moving way too fast
Needs addressing
Youths are guessing”
Hearing the plight
Deciding comments were valid and right
Made the commitment to write
Leaving the fire
Quietly retired
Retreating inside the study
Idle computer still counts transfer balance money
Clearing a space
Pull out a typewriter, hiding in the carrying case
Pluck the keys
Ink ribbon works, see
Going old school
Simple and cool
Suddenly a mistake
Creates an eraser break
Remember the time it takes
Clean the sheet
Keeping the words readable and neat
Then the tower
Having super cyber power
Ask, “what did you trade?
Should you stay?
Old school
Simple and cool
Or
Devour the apple down to its core?
After taking the word processing tour?”
Now that the task is done
Confirming story telling can be fun
Reminding everyone
Freedom of speech
Is a concept to teach
From the borders to the beach
And especially, relaxing next to a fire
Retired
Having the time to distribute wisdom which is admired
