Create Now and Let Go of the Past

A time to play first - surely work can wait..

“Let go of the past - create NOW.”

Feel the meaning of these words.

One more time, for those at the back!

Let go of the past and create NOW..

Pick up a pen,

Journal your thoughts, or

Phone an old friend

to warmly converse,

You might as well create right NOW

With a whole lot of feeling!

Chuck out the GPS, then

Drive your car to an unfamiliar spot,

See the sunrise,

Let the day not thwart.

Take ‘snaps’ of all the birds,

Walk under that bridge,

Feed the ducks (but not too much)

Let nature give.

A time to play first,

then later you can work,

If you continue to ‘play’ a little in your job,

then others just might have a smirk (or you’ll get fired!)

You've gotta learn to balance your energies,

You have the control,

Feel the positivity flow through you and

To others extol.

Hold onto that inner joy, and

Bask in its glory,

Muster up some pep now,

Only you can write your story.

Laugh until you splurt!

Fish in the vast Ocean,

Complete your epic novel,

Just stay in motion.

There’s freedom in thinking,

One’s stagnant-psychological-cords are now ✂️ cut,

Step up confidently pronto,

Mundane? You’re anything but!

Hi Grz - I've been down for a few months - forgot to get my vaccination for 'Old Age' but I've always enjoyed your 'ecletic' unique stories; especially this one re; I disagree with most of my own "Thinking." A Favor: I know that you are a super follower of our Rachel; I see your thoughtful comments all the time. Please leave a comment on her 'Ode to Rachel Deeming' Post. The year-long writings are so impressive. I know she would appreciate the gesture from you. Thank you, - Jk.in.l.a

Yes, we got to have flow in all aspects of our living our lives. That is what all writers and artists need to work on various ideas and projects. Good work.

I just walked through a vast English forest, it was so freeing and I got lost. This is such great advice.

It’s nice to read such an encouraging and affirming poem Grz, especially about life! There’s a lot of good out there for us if we choose to go after it. “ Only you can write your story”- a classic, but so true 👏🏾

I am vibing so hard with this poem of your Grz, especially after returning from a week of camping!! Great work here, I love the all encompassing feeling of that sort of "seize the day" sort of thing!!

Yes! So much goodness in this piece! It totally spoke to my soul! I have way too many pictures of birds in my phone… and clouds. Haha! I’m inspired! Love this one, Grz! Hope you’re getting a chance to follow your own advice (looks like you are!) 🙌🏽☀️💞💫

Good stuff :-D At the line "You've gotta learn to balance your energies," recalled a song, "Energies" by Leap. The poem has a somewhat similar rhythm to it

This is great! I laughed at the strike through line. What kind of boss would fire someone purposely attempting to lighten the mood!😉😂

Well-wrought! Though I think if creation were always necessarily an act of pleasure for the artist, culture would be bereft of some amazing works. I'm reminded of the curmudgeonly mastery of Michelangelo, painting the Sistine Chapel and throwing stuff at the Popes from the scaffolding when they came to spy! Yet, it all comes around, because what was not necessarily a pleasure but a higher calling for Mikey becomes again a jest and a good laugh for me! "Eternity is a mere moment, only long enough for a joke." Hermann Hesse, "Steppenwolf"

Great writerly advice and beautifully put in verse. If you say you have 'writer's block' it just means you are sitting at a desk and not enjoying life. Well put

  • You're asking too much from me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Even with GPS, I tend to take the wrong path and get lost hahahahahaha. Jokes aside, I reallyyyyy loved your poem!!

This was beautifully written and exactly what I needed to read right now! Loved it! “Hold onto that inner joy, and Bask in its glory, Muster up some pep now, Only you can write your story.” This really resonated with me needing to wash away the narcissist And get back to being back in my glory! Thanks for this Beautiful work 🥰
