This poem is about a recent walk when a coyote trotted out before me, which I took as a blessing. I do not look at the coyote as a trickster; they are intelligent and are losing wilderness daily.
Many times, I see wildlife when walking alone because I pay attention to the surroundings and look for the miracle of life. H/She allowed me to take a video and several photos (on my Instagram), but they didn't upload well on Vocal, so I used the Pixabay photo.
**
Walking alone,
sharing space with
creatures high and low
they are
crawling, creeping
soaring, swooping
scampering, slinking
swimming, scooting
trotting
Coyote trotted in front of me
glanced back and paused
for my photo
We honored each other in
perfect peace
calmly sharing the path

loved "we honored each other" That is what I feel from your work...the honor you have for nature
Surreal! Love your poem! I also love your deep appreciation for wildlife! 💝
Hi Ac ~ We always seem to relate re; our generational schtick. We live on a moutainside and have a new neighbor that is complaining about Coyotes...Told her they were here long before us. May I introduce my Brother to you featured in 'Twins'...I believe you may relate to this reach-back. j.in.l.a.
I would have been sooooo excited if this happened to me! Loved your poem!
Your love of the wild shines through your writing. When we write about the things we love it's like a superpower. Lovely poem!
