Cornerstone

For those who too, feel alone, perhaps you were built to be your own cornerstone.

By Summer RobinsonPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I suppose I was always meant to be alone–independent of a mother in the grave and of a father whom my inner child never forgave.

Left a community that views me a sinner, counted as a loss; I chose authenticity and to the curb I was tossed.

In rooms always surrounded by people, no matter strangers or blood, when my heart should grow fond yet only identifies feeble.

The concept of forever, a fallacy dethroned–those eyes in the mirror tell me I was built to be my own cornerstone.

Summer, you are a beautiful person and you have a wonderful soul. I love the Little Women quote in the profile page. I'm so sorry for any pain or suffering unkind people have directed your way. It's their loss, not having you in their lives. I hope that you have a tribe of people who love and accept you for you.
