Consequence

Fidget spinner from another time

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

got a case of the urgents

on a path of divergence

and all that was left to do

was sleep and dream

all the opposites are in shadows

the illusion of a choice is the key

all the spirits they are finite

yet they want to creep and scream

no more forks in even less roads

got to keep moving straight ahead

no more corners no more bends

no more seeing or even being led

no more seeing second hand shit

on a simpler scale or lesser view

everything could be scrutinised up close

every single thing we ever say or do

is even to a lesser degree even a thing

what is this crazy mix up i’m now in?

another angle not even a legitimate message

just having quick look is not a sin

your freedom your faith and free will

no more delusions inside decisions

they will say you got karma sutra’d

pointed anointed awkward positions

take note of change, it can be a bitch

it will hit you low and hit you hard

it will hit you fast and hit you slow

hit you just short of permanently scarred

consequences litter the roadside

of every journey, both far and near

and the consequence of being there

when you should have simply been here!

I really like the edge and grit of how this flowed. Every line painted a picture, but my favorite was ‘ they will say you got karma sutra’d’ - gold!

This one resonates with some personal struggles I've experienced, very thought provoking. I really like the line "consequences litter the roadside." Just today my seven-year-old daughter noticed a man who littered and she told me..."Dad, he's breaking the law..." I had to laugh a little at her observation.
