our young flowing minds flutter with plans
bliss greets us as the sun shines on our shoulder
the light grows as we discover the wonder in our hands
we forget that one day we'll grow older
our feet step with haste as we run quickly from the waters shore
we chase away the monsters, quiet and bored
the burn of the pavement pains us no more
we learn how to listen to those who are warred
we tie our hands in knots as the sun begins to descend
our minds calm as we settle into our beds
I know in my heart this is a lifelong friend
the laughs start as we decide to play instead
our childish songs of life never seem a detriment
'cause we never forget to live in the moment
