Give me silence and give it to me like a drug.
Inject it into the shallow waters of my veins
Until something bursts, something bruises,
Leaves a bloody mark that proves it was here.
.
It lived inside of my chest like a mother bear,
Asleep to the world but devastatingly hungry,
Starving despite chewing on sugared silence.
.
Store memories in my veins like nightmares,
Press them into the backs of my eyelids until
All I see when I close my eyes is the ghostly
Afterimage of something that was spectacular.
.
I want to remember the high and the crash,
The good as it wrapped its legs around the bad
And fucked the common sense right out its head.

Whoa!!! That last line was fricken awesome, for lack of a better term. It landed perfectly!
A loud and rowdy poem on silence, loved it.
Quite a potent, brutal closing line!
