Comfort

A poem about regrets and missed opportunities

I sit securely inside my cushion of comfort

observing the world around me, cautiously

wondering, will I ever be willing enough to leave

to step outside my comfort zone?

Will I venture out and say hello?

Just a simple “hello, how are you?”

Or will I remain quiet and miss another opportunity?

I should have said hello.

Will I take the plunge and be most bold

As I face my fears and attempt new things

Stepping outside my comfort zone

Crossing things off my bucket list, following my dreams.

Or will I hide away inside my comfort zone

ultimately regretting not taking that chance

as opportunities pass me by

As I sit securely inside my cushion of comfort.
