Colors of the sky

just a poem

By Eliza Decker Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Blue as the sky, pink as the dusk;

We all know this, all of us.

Bright as the day is dawn,

Shy as the curtains are drawn,

Gentle as a starling fawn.

Each morning we pray that this day,

We will find our colors and survive that way.

May it be blue, may it be true,

May it be pink, may we think…

Truly it’s a dream to believe.

May we look toward the sky for relief.

Maybe what we look for can be found in flowers,

Maybe we just need silence for hours.

In any case please bless the colors of the sky,

The colors of us, and the mysteries of why.
