Colorado Fall

Missing home

Colorado Fall

Cyan shades the skies

Of Autumn, brilliant blue hues

Lofty clouds billow in cool breezes

Orioles dot the sky, southbound

Racing honking geese to warmer climes

Another fall has come 'round

Days shorten, nights cool

Old memories of summer melt away

Fanciful fluttering leaves of red and gold falling, flying

Abundantly laden fields lay ready for harvest

Life cycles wind down, readying for a season of rest

Lifted are my spirits when my sweaters come out

Daily walks, leaves crunching 'neath my feet

And breezes add pink to nose and cheeks

Yearning for fall to last

Since winter lingers on
