That’s one of my many working places,
in the house.
When I feel like I need
fresh air, birdsong, and blue sky,
calming ambiance, some inspiration,
I go there, the northwest corner.
Private under the big walls,
a meditating Buddha figurine
my personal shrine.
I sit there surrounded by
plants of different kinds,
foliage and flowers.
Now arugula and nasturtium
blooming; bees hum.
Stress crumbles, tranquility arrives.
I write my passing thoughts
all the social hurts.
It's so healing, restorative.
I am glad to have made that
secret peace nook.
I encourage you, to create your own,
an escape from the
daily humdrum, pandemonium.
