Color of Senses

I can feel the color of your shapes

By TL HollidayPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I see your aura with my eyes clothed, my body painted with your scent,

Your vibrations play under my skin, matching shapes to make sense,

Red square, blue circle, and yellow triangle on the back of my eyelids, it’s all so clear,

Some are like cool rain on a hot day, round blues and sunset curves,

Others like nails on a chalkboard, dirty rectangles and faded nerves,

Translucence runs through my veins when balanced, as a river flowing from my golden chalice,

Queen of cups, floating in her vibrance, she is calm and all feeling,

Allowing the gradient of time to illuminate the shadows of a past that attempted fleeing,

But a canvas always starts off blank, whether painted over black or fresh white,

I feel the colors of your experience, a splash and a spill, then run for the clean wipes,

Instead of mixing and blending, lines dripping and drying, you attempt to erase,

The smear of murky water leaks into my consciousness, each drop prepared to race

To the bottom of the canvas, and onto the floor to make a mess,

Except, my paintbrush, bristles with a wet hue, swipes and swirls to encompass

A new feeling of purple joy and baby blue bliss,

I see your dusty brown, and raise you a rich chestnut, dare to be bold,

Embrace my peaceful lilac essence and elevate your sweet lavender mold,

Metallic taste buds to pastel pallets, insides now boasting swirls of salmon and halibut,

I call it the Conversion, a shift of balance and perspective to paint a whole,

Green is incomplete without blue, drowning until yellow offers its soul,

And there I am at the gate, knowing it’s this colorful ride you’re impeding,

Nevertheless I’m ready and waiting to punch your ticket with a warm greeting,

As is the same on the underside, for I am iridescent,

Show me spring tones and I’ll give you the required growth of navies and grays that bloom into your contempt
