City, but also a muse

"And in the blonde wave of weightless light
Gilding my path
Went her hair pile"
(Porfirio Barba-Jacob, The lady of burning hair)
*
You are the Sun
Or at least half of you is
Iridescent, escaping clouds
And ozone prison
The circle of life is red
And orange and warm and tent
You are, overshadowing below, queen
Immortalizing a breath and melting the air
Helping the hopeless and the frail
*
Your other half… is gray
A mix of steel and iron
A snake, and a ruthless tyrant
Blue-esque, reflecting the limelight
As though you’re needless of fame
And you are but you know your way
Of power, brilliancy and might
Can’t be in shadows, but you evade the Sun
*
These two parts of you blend
Vanish as they touch each other
One burns, and the other fades
And the view of the city is pregnant
Waiting for the child of your gaze
You evoke all in the place
A dark void on buildings
And burning of clouds
And a sky without sunlight
And the Earth of flames endowed

Beautiful poem!
Well done on TS 😀👍
This expression is so soothing yet has an air of ineffable intensity and anxiety. In my experience that’s a muse for ya.
I mean, that is quite the evocative description. I get the light and the dark, the warmth and the cold that are typical of cities and I love that quote at the beginning!
